Ok guys I bought myself a MSI X99A SLI PLUS MOBO because I started getting into content creation. I render and record gameplay a lot. I also bought 16GB RAM DDR4 2400MHZ. I say on Ebay that a trusted provider has E5-2690 v3's for 540$ CAD which is pretty much the same price for a i7 5820K. That Xeon is a 12 core 24 threads 2.6GHZ with a turbo to 3.5GHZ. My motherboard supports that Xeon processor I checked their website. My question is... Will the Xeon lower my fps in my games ? I plan on buying a R9 390. My current pc is a fx 8350 with a 270x. If I lose FPS will it be over 20-30 fps ? Also any tips on this ? Any better options ? A i7 4 core is not enough for what I have planned.

For rendering, unless what you render is worth money and you'll end up investing rather than just buying new hardware because you think you need to, then I go for the Xeon. It won't really be a bad thing in games, but very good while rendering, depending on application of course. If it's software on the CPU, which is the slowest, in programs like Premiere Pro, then more cores and more threads is better. I would stick with the FX 8350 though, for gaming it's not the best, but does spending money on a new motherboard, new OS, new CPU really justify the extra % saved when rendering?

No I'm trying to go for 1080P 60 fps with over 144 fps because I have a 144hz monitor. I just want high fps in games while recording aswell as render times. I basically want to render a video with x number of cores and play a game while recording also while streaming it. I will also jump to 1440P pretty soon. Money i can speed up to 1500$ CAD thats not the issue. I heard directx12 will benefit more cores also.
