So I built this computer back in 2011 so it does have some age, I've upgraded it throughout the years. and just like last month it started doing this weird thing where it would just start to lag for a few seconds, and then stop,

when it lags, the computer really slows down, the keyboard becomes unresponsive. I've checked my computer performance when it does this, the CPU doesn't spike, the RAM usage doesn't go up. I then checked the event viewer and it doesn't show anything out of the ordinary. no warnings, or errors. I don't understand whats causing this. I've googled this a million times to find a solution, but nothing! someone said it might be the Nvidia drivers, which I've had problems with Nvidia drivers in the past, so I updated them, problem still continues, rolled them back to an earlier version, problem is still there. so I don't think its the Nvidia drivers.

I've checked the PC for viruses, found nothing. checked the computer temperatures cause it is getting hotter, everythings staying cool. I cannot find anything that supposed to cause this lag! I've checked task manager to see if there's any increase in CPU usage from a certain task, nope. thought maybe the RAM was going bad, switched them, still no fix.

I'm literally out of ideas.

my computer specs are
CPU: Intel i5 2500K
MOBO: MSI P67A-C43 B3
GPU: Nvidia GTX770
RAM: G.Skill 16GB DDR3 (just upgraded)
Hard drives: I have 2 7200RPM 1TB, and 1 SSD
PSU: Cooler Master 700W

I don't understand how my computer went from working just fine, to this. don't know what to do. it does it while the computer is idle, does it when I'm gaming, it doesn't do it at a certain time.

okay so oddly enough after snooping around, I did actually find the problem... I was looking through device manager, and it said "MS Bus controller" was not working correctly and the driver was missing, which idk how that happened, re-installed the driver, it seems to be working just fine, 2 hours after installing the driver, no lag issues...
