Hi, as title said, if I use this splitter - Thermaltake Commander FX10 10 Port Fan Hub (found on ebay), would I be able to adjust the fan speed using a fan controller software?
If you have the budget, you can simply move all your components to a new chassis unless motherboard form factor would be an issue, what's your motherboard manufacturer and model/product number?
I'm afraid it can't be an option to be considered. The case I have now Corsair 900d, and I'd also like to keep it. Motherboard is Asus Rampage Extreme. Is there any other options that I may take? How was the idea of using Y-split cable to connect total of 8 fans to a controller with 4 channels?
Probably a bad idea as many fan controllers have low amperage limits and putting two fans on each channel could put your power draw over the amperage limit for the fan controller.
I think all it does is split power from a SATA connector, I don't think it hooks into the MOBO for RPM control... Short answer, no, but don't hold me to that because the specifications page wasn't specific enough to understand how it really works

Alright, thanks for your quick reply! Looks like there aren't many choice for splitter/hub/controller that can support up to 8 channels. But if I use this 4 channel controller, Scythe Kaze Master (found on ebay), and then use 4 Y-split cables to connect total of 8 fans to those 4 channels, would it work?
If you're trying to compile a parts list for a PC, then I would suggest the NZXT Phantom 530 which has a built in fan controller that'll handle all the fans you can fit in the chassis.
This is the list of fans you can put in the chassis (text copied from specs page of manufacturer website)
Front 2x140mm/ 120mm or 1x200mm
(1 x 200mm included)
Rear 1x140mm (included) / 120mm
Bottom 2x120mm
Side 1x140mm
Top 2x200mm/ 140mm or 3x120mm
Interior 1x120mm/140mm

Thanks for that suggestion, but actually I'm doing an upgrade, wish I'd known it though. x.,x
