So I recently bought a wireless controller adapter ( http://www.amazon.com/Ortz%C2%AE-Xbox-360-Wireless-Receiver-Windows/dp/B00TGL39TI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1460640448&sr=8-1&keywords=xbox+360+wireless+adapter ) to play certain games the way they were meant to be played. However when I put in the disc, it doesn't autoplay, it goes to the files. Then, when I click setup, it says that there is a compatibility issue, and doesnt work at all.
I'm on Windows 8.1, 64 bit.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It uses old drivers because Microsoft doesn't have official ones on disc, but there are workarounds like THIS I got from Amazon:

"Works for Windows 8.1 although most instructions founds in these reviews are for Windows 7. Here are my instructions for getting it to work on 8.1:

1. Plug in USB. The system will not recognize it and it will show up as "Unknown device"
2. Go into Device Manager (search for it using the Start menu)
3. Right-click on unknown device and go into properties
4. Click on "Update driver"
5. Click on "Browse my computer for driver software"
6. Click on "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer"
7. Scroll down and choose "Xbox 360 Peripherals"
8. Click "Next" and choose "Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver...

9. Click "Yes" to ignore the resulting warning
10. Click the Ortz button. Turn on the Xbox 360 controller and then press and HOLD the wireless reset button on the top of the controller. I was stuck trying to figure out why this wasn't working for the longest time because all I did was press it without holding!"

I guess that's what I did before, though it disappeared a couple times so I had to set it up again.
