Which one is better ? (MSI R9-290X, 4 GB) or (ASUS Strix GTX 960 4GB)

I want to know which graphic card is good for gaming and games like GTA V ? because i'm planning to buy a pc gamer
ASUS GTX 960 OC 4 GB DDR5
MSI R9-290X 4 GB DDR5

If I had these two choices, and a PSU that can support both, I'd easily get the 290X over the 960. Why? I will get higher settings and fps in games. Do I need more? no. Get the 290X.

290x is faster by a large amount
the 960 really compares to the r9 280x and not the 290x
