I'm looking for a CPU and a Graphics Card to buy. I want to go for intel CPU and nVidia GPU but I don't know what the best combo would be for 1080p 60fps gaming.

I've got £400 to spend, maybe £450.

I need the CPU and GPU also to be compatible with my MOBO which is a Gigabyte 970A-UD3P Motherboard.

Solution
Then just get the 970.
Stick with current CPU. It still has enough oomph for the 970. Going to 8350 is wasting your resource at this point. Sure it will net better, but still not by much compared to say, overclocking your current CPU.

Keep the CPU until Zen came out and the benches of it are solid. Only then you can decide yourself.

First that board is a am3 am3+ socket it wont take a intel chip. You can get a FX-8350 8 core 4.0 GHz for about $150 and a Nvidia gtx 960 4gb for about $200. Just remember ram is also important for better fps.

I've currently got the AMD FX-6300, I was looking to buy the GTX 970, would upgrading to the AMD FX-8350 boost the FPS even more?
