hey guys its been so long since i came to toms,
i just got my sandisk ultra 3.0 64 GB OTG flash drive and while copying some files the transfer speed seemed to be wierd , ie when im copying a file from my pc to the drive the speed is around 15-20 MBps, but when im copying a file from the drive to the pc the speed is around 120-130MBps.
is this supposed to be normal..i have all the mobo drivers installed .The usb is connected via usb 3.0 .
Any kind of help would be appreciated.
THANK YOU FOR READING!

John.

All USB flash drives even of the usb 3.0 standard of interface are faster at reading and writing.

One thing I would check though if using a usb 3.0 flash drive with a usb 3.0 port of your system.
Depending on the brand name of your motherboard and the model number used.

Is to check in the bios of the motherboard if the usb 3.0 port specification is enabled.
With some software that is provided on the motherboard support dvd.

You can get a program for example.
With Asus branded motherboards called USB boost 3.0

Called AI suite II.
In the tools tab you have the Usb 3.0 utility.
Where you can turn on turbo mode for usb 3.0 spec ports to get more read and write speed out of a flash drive.
There is also another mode called UASP.

If the Usb flash drive you have states it supports turbo, or UASP protocols make sure it is enabled.
As it will give you faster Usb 3.0 spec flash drive read and write speeds.
