Question about unplugging HDD and leaving SSD?

I'm ordering a new PSU to replace my noisy one. Last time I bought a new PSU (a couple years back) I got a dud and it fried my hard drive. I have lots of important stuff on it so I want to leave it unplugged and just test everything with only my SSD installed for a bit. My only concern is that I moved all my User folders (documents, videos, pictures, music, etc) to my HDD so that all of my data saves onto my HDD and my games and software and OS stays on my SSD. Will anything act strange when booting with only my SSD installed? I don't want to plug my HDD back in and have all my stuff screwed up. Thanks for any responses!
