I'm hoping to upgrade to a laptop that can handle demanding software and games. After some research, I've found a contender in the HP Envy 17. By customizing it on HP's website, the specs are:
> Windows 10 Home 64
> 6th Gen Intel Core i7-6700HQ Processor Quad-Core + NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950M 4GB Discrete Graphics
> 16GB DDR3 - 2 DIMM
> 1TB 5400 rpm Hard Drive + 256GB Flash Solid State Drive
> 6-cell 62WHr Lithium-ion Battery
Based on that information, is it possible to determine if I could manually upgrade to 32Gb RAM (2 x 16)? Or, from your experience, is it worth it to make the upgrade? Maybe 16Gb is enough.
A lot of the appeal for this laptop is also due to price; I can get all of the above specs and a 2-year warranty for less than $1500.
