I recently built a computer.My SSD is Samsung Evo 250 GB and it works fine but, now that theirs no room left i was looking to use HDD thats hooked up but windows says its their but not responding what do i do?( sorry for my bad english). Please help
Can you please share more details about your system's configuration? I'd also suggest you post some screenshots from Disk management and My Computer/This PC. If the HDD is brand new, then @CountMike is right you should go to Disk Management and reformat the HDDfrom there.
However, if the HDD is SUDDENLY not responding, you should definitely use its brand-specific manufacturer's diagnostic tool to check up on the health and SMART status. ( You can refer to some third-party tool suggestionsas well.)
If you have an external backup drive, I'd strongly recommend you copy all your important data to it before proceeding with the troubleshooting. Consider changing the default...
