Hello guys,
I have I3 2100
GTS 450
mobo (1155 socket)
8 GB ram

I wander if its better to buy an i5 2400-2500 (second hand) with gtx 950 or gtx 960
Will i3 2100 bottlenecks gtx 960 ?

It probably would bottleneck it. However, an i5 2400 with a gtx 950 wouldn't be much faster since the gtx 950 is the bottleneck in this case. I recommend either getting the i3 and gtx 950 and saving some money, or save up a little longer and grab both the i5 and gtx 960.

Not bad advice but not sure I agree entirely either. Yes some bottle necking will happen in some usage scenarios with a GTX 960 vs 950 but not sure it's enough to warrant to dropping down to a GTX 950 frame rate wise. Yes a quad core would be better for gaming in fact I encourage it highly, assuming your trying to play newer games. If your only trying to boost your frame rate in older/e-sport titles then the GTX 960 will do that better then the GTX 950 in almost every case. The GTX 960 just won't stretch its legs as much as it could with a couple more cores. I hope that helps.

I don't think it will be big but it will be there all the same. my guess is you lose about 5-10% of your performance not running a quad core though you have hyper-threading....if you dropped to a GTX 950 your performance would fall by about 15%. So you could grab a GTX 950 and a new CPU like he said get 100% performance (or so we will call it the baseline), Or you could get the GTX 960 and get 105-110% performance then get a quad core shortly and get the full 115% performance envelope for your budget. make sense? ultimately it's your call.
