i recently bought a g73 laptop on ebay, looked like a decent deal, $400, so i picked it up.
when i got it, it looked okay, and performs fine, up until you try to boot with the battery. turns on, seems to post, but shuts off immediately after. then, wont turn back on at all til i plug it in. i suspected the battery, but im not sure. sometimes the battery light blinks orange and green, but not always. but, the machine will boot up on ac power. i do have an ssd main drive, i have heard that can cause issues. motherboard, possibly, but the battery reads all sorts of weird numbers like charging from 0-99% takes 20 minutes. and it will run fine once booted to windows if i unplug it, doesnt last very long but it goes for longer than a "dead battery" it seems. 10 minutes or so. unfortunately i dont have another battery to test it with... but i'd like to hear from more experienced people, or fellows who owned this rig before so i know what i could be getting myself into, the ebay seller did give me 50$ back, so if i had to do a mobo swap, it wouldnt kill me. any suggestions?
