Can someone guide me on how do i build pc for 3dsmax still images rendering? Im doing more photorealistic rendering, but not into animation or render farm.

Suggestion?

Solution

rzlzhd,

The method to decide on a system configuration is to:

1. Establish the priorities of use, for example is most of the time spent in 3D modeling or rendering?
>__ A 3D modeling priority suggests a stronger single-threaded CPU peoformance. A rendering priority needs to consider question No. 2.

2. Is the rendering Mental Ray? If so, is the CPU used, or is GPU rendering enabled?

rzlzhd,

>__ If the rendering is CPU, then more CPU cores is preferable. If the rendering is GPU, then CUDA acceleration suggests a graphics card with many CUDA cores is preferable. For higher anti-aliasing and viewport support, and 10-bit color, a Quadro is a good idea

3. What is the performance required? Is this is high output in a professional situation, consulting, artistic- graphic design for advertising or journalistic or,..? Des the image quality need to be the very highest possible resolution and quality? Is the rendering manipulated / processed further?

4. What is the file size and amount of storage needed? Do you need fast access to image libraries?

5. What is the budget?
>__ Then the answers to the other questions can be placed in the context of cost /performance.
