So i just did my brand new pc build , and it worked , im so happy

Altho while i was building my PC , when i went to install my GPU , the motherboard had like this little box on the right ( like it was a lock ), so i figured id push it down thinking it was a lock to put in my GPU , and it came off , like easily without much pressure , so i got scared and figured it mightve been on purpose.
But know im worried , was that supposed to happen? Was that its lock? cause know theres like no lock on my PC or anything , should i be worried if i pull off my GPU one day and maybe damage it?
