Poor H80i Temps

Recently, I bought an Intel Core i7 4790k. I'd like to overclock it, but seeing these temps at the stock clock speed, I'm not sure that's possible. At idle my CPU is getting anywhere from 35-42 degrees C. Under a more intense workload, it gets almost all the way up to 70 (it peaked there once) Averaging about mid 60's. I've posted a forum about this before at: http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-2230509/corsair-h80i-problems.html which has a fix that I performed on this. I haven't really seen that much difference after installing washers. Is this cooler really that bad? Thanks for any help. (on a separate note: this every time I start my PC the cooler is a salmon color, and it stays that way aft er Link opens. I've tried to update the firmware, which temporarily fixed it, but now it's doing it again. Kinda throws off the color scheme of my build a little, no big issue i guess.)

My specs:
Intel Core i7 4790k
MSI z97 gaming 5
Corsair CX750M
Corsair H80i
Corsair vengeance 8gb
Kingston HyperX 120gb
Seagate Barracuda 1TB

My first question is, did you remove the old thermal paste and apply new before attempting to mount the cooler?

Also, could you please put up a picture or a link to a picture of how you have the pump and radiator mounted? I'd also like to know how many and what size fans you have in your chassis as well as which are intake and which are exhaust. The reason I'm asking is that even the best coolers will struggle if they're starved for cool air.

I changed the thermal paste when I changed it. Now that you bring it up, my fan situation is rather poor.. I have two 120mm fans in the front, the 120s (stock) on the h80i, and the one in the PSU which doesn't take or give air to the case. However, I do have a 180mm high airflow fan that I could install in the top of the case. Here are the pictures: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B-9gH5SySbhFZkVyd1FtRXRDcU0

It says its an empty folder... Please configure sharing settings to public so I can see the contents, thanks

But this seems odd, you have the intake to get air to your cooler (unless you have non blower style graphics cards dumping heat into the air within the chassis) so I guess it must just be poor performance of the cooler. I'd still like to see the picture though just to make sure you're not doing something backwards or something, no offense

https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B-9gH5SySbhFZkVyd1FtRXRDcU0&usp=sharing I have it configured so people with this link can view the pictures.. But my GPU does blow heat upwards a little. When I tested with Integrated graphics the temps. were about the same
