Nice build! The only thing I would say is take a look at the Titan series cards. They are very good for the money, especially with all the RAM they have. The only downside is that they run pretty hot when under load versus a Quadro (mine is custom water-cooled to help with that). In the end, it's your decision! :D

Nope nope, consumer card for professional applications just NOPE. The Quadro (or Firepro) drivers make even the most basic professional cards run professional applications anywhere from 2 to 10 times better. This is not an exaggeration. Even professional cards in the 200$ range beat the Titan X easily.

Which $200 card are you talking about? Any card that inexpensive won't have anywhere near the RAM of a Titan, so if you have a scene that takes up more than 2GB of space, you need to either render with the CPU or cut back on your scene. I know this because even the 6GB on my Titan Black is not always enough for rendering some of my projects.

I don't use Solidworks, but I don't think the OP ever mentioned it. I use the Cycles engine in Blender, (which is similar to using V-Ray in Maya, for example). I'm not quite sure which engine the OP will be using, but he mentioned Maya and 3DS Max as programs he will use.

Hi guys I´m new to the site, I just would like to know if this is still the best option for the price($1500-£1200):

CPU: Intel Xeon E3-1240 V5 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor ($269.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Motherboard: Asus E3 PRO GAMING V5 ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($144.99 @ Amazon)
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws V Series 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR4-2133 Memory ($119.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Samsung 950 PRO 256GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive ($181.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($71.99 @ Newegg)
Video Card: PNY Quadro 4000 2GB Video Card ($504.49 @ Amazon)
Case: Silverstone PS11B-W ATX Mid Tower Case ($54.99 @ Amazon)
Power Supply: EVGA 850W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply ($79.99 @ Amazon)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 Home OEM (64-bit) ($85.99 @ NCIX US)

It would be awesome to get something similar for under 1000, but if it really makes a difference I can make it to 1200.

I´m planning on getting rid of my 2008 mackbook as it is nearly impossible to run any 3d program at this point.
I will use it for professional purposes (Indesign/photoshop/illustrator) but mainly to produce high quality renders and short animations.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!
