I recently bought a Samsung EVO 850 500 GB SSD. I followed the instructions, attached it to my PC using a SATA =>USB cable and started the Samsung migration software. This seemed to work fine, until 99 percent of the HDD had been copied to the SSD. Then the program shut down, with a 'Cloning Failed' -message and an error code consisting of a number of x's (something like xxx-xxxxx). The second time I tried the same thing happened. Would this be a faulty disk or connection or some sort of software problem?

The program may be encountering a large cluster of bad sectors on the HDD that you're cloning from. Use CrystalDiskInfo to check the SMART stats of the HDD.
