Hi all,
I recently hooked up my an old laptop drive externally and after a few days of leaving it connected my computer choose to boot windows from this drive. I disconnected went to boot up from the regular drive and I got select proper boot device.
So far I've checked the bios boot priority, this hasn't worked. Tried the console commands regarding fixing bootmngr - no joy, and have loaded up windows from the original install disc and have tried a system repair which has not resolved it. I've switched over the sata cables and they are fine and I've ran chkdsk but it says its fine and have now used it as an external drive where I can see all the data so the hard drive looks fine.
Any help much appreciated.
