So, like the title says my mobo is a MSI Gaming M7 Z170A.

I have a few noob questions. First of all, my motherboard's I/O shield came with an aluminum foam around it. I didn't notice this until now and my mobo is already in place along with all of the other parts. Will the aluminum foam be a problem? Do I have to remove it or does it matter at all? Or is it supposed to be there?

Second question is, where are the connectors for the peripherals? My PSU (EVGA SuperNova G2) has two PERIF cables but I do not see where I should connect these on the mobo. I assume I don't need them?

And my last question is, I have two small parts that look like extensions, one of them has 7 pins with the following text under the pins:
SPK+, BUZ-, BUZ+, SPK-, GND, SLED, PLED. The other part has 9 pins and the following text:
PWR_SW-, PWR_SW+, FP PWR/SLP, FP PWR/SLP, HD_LED+, HD_LED-, RST_SW-, RST_SW+, RSVD_DNU.

Now, some of them are pretty self explanatory, however I have no idea what to connect to GND, SLED, PLED, the two FP/PWR/SLP and RSVD_DNU. Furthermore, I can't figure out where I have to put these two parts ON the motherboard.

Again, I'm doing my first ever build so I'm sorry if the questions are stupid or confusing.

Yes that i/o shield is fine to use, if it has any packaging on it then you should remove it. If it paddings glued to the i/o shield then you don't need to remove it.
The PERIF cables have molex plugs. These have many uses such as powering certain case fans or devices. If you have no need for molex plugs then you don't need to use them.
Only certain motherboards has the option to use molex to give some extra power. For your motherboard, you don't need to connect a molex plug.
If you referring to this:

They are used to connect your case front panels into one plug so you can them plug that into the motherboard. You can choose to use that or not. Read your motherboard manual, it will give the information you need.

Below is what the I/O currently looks like for me, I feel like I rushed it.
Also, yes, those are the two parts that I meant and it looks like I'm not going to be able to connect every pin, I assume it will work fine even if some pins are unconnected, considering I didn't get the cables for them.

Alright, thanks for the help guys.

Hoping for the best, expecting the worst. It's an i5 6600k and 980ti build so I'm being extremely careful with this.
