Hello guys , I want to know if this is correct so I can document in my future career in IT.

So yesterday I install a cooler , when I turn it on , there was no signal on monitor , when I remove two stick of RAM and put in random dimm slot with the two stick of RAM, it work. So I check the the CPU Socket one pin was bent before I install the cooler, but now since I kept putting it in and out, now most of the socket is bent .

Ok so I'm asking was that the problem , and why could it read two stick of RAM if it was bent..

First time building a PC but have school knowledge in PC , CIS Major and studying for IT Certs

Wanted to build for gaming , programing, video editing , and more in hand knowledge of hardware

Thx for the answers guys

Solution
Hi, The memory controller is integrated into the CPU.
A bent pin, if related to the memory controller/memory bus, might indeed create this kind of issues (RAM slot not working).

Yea I bought a new one , but I hope new egg give me replacement for it. Thx for the reason Alexiou and the for the link Clavin7. Since I keep turning on my desktop did it to damage on my ram ,CPU and video card, I notice when I turn on the PC with two stick of RAM when I have one CPU socket bent ,the nividia driver kept crashing and recovering when I started to play a game. When I touch the the graphic card it was hot.

Hope I don't have this problem .
