Dell XPS 435MT 6 Ram Slots for Upgrade. How many slots to use?

I recently was given a Dell XPS 435MT. It runs great. The MB has 6 RAM slots. It currently has 6-1 Mb chips. I am upgrading to a 2Gb video card and other things. I want to upgrade the RAM. I would like to get at least 16Gb or 24Gb total. How do I arrange the RAM? There are 6 slots. 3 Odd and 3 Even slots. Do I use PAIRS of RAM and only use 2 slots? Do I buy 3 chips and use 3 slots? DO I buy 6 same chips and use all 6 slots? Can I buy 2 pairs of RAM and use 4 slots? The Dell site and the Dell manual are confusing. I have worked on PC clones for years and I have always done the RAM thing in PAIRS? Thanks in advance for any help...

Can you make things a bit easier by linking to the manual? There are indeed triple-channel memory systems. Someone who is more up on current systems than I am could tell you just from looking at the model. I can't tell without looking at the manual. Or you could install CPU-Z and see if the memory is running in double-channel or triple-channel mode.

I will look for the manual and update this post if I find the answer.

EDIT: It's triple-channel memory. Buy a three-pack kit of eight GB modules, or six 4 GB modules. It will accept up to 24 GB of memory. You will get the best performance using three identical modules or six identical modules. These are often sold in sets of three that have been tested to work together.
