New Graphics Card, not working: black screen with blinking underscore on startup

So I got a new graphics card the other day, from NewEgg, and it's the Zotac GTX 750 Ti (2GB). I have onboard graphics on my desktop, and I'm not sure if it's interfering or if my motherboard is, or event he graphics card. I have reseated the RAM, the card, resetted the CMOS battery, using the onboard graphics but having the card installed... to no resolution. When the card is plugged in, the fan works, and my computer responds to it, in a strange way though. As long as the card is in, the computer won't fully start up. When I use HDMI or VGA into the card, I get the post beep, and three beeps about every 15 seconds. After the 3rd beep, the monitor goes to a black screen with an infinite blinking white underscore in the top left screen. My PSU is 300W, and most people say that will work, but I'm not 100% sure. When the display is connected to the card, I cannot press any keys and cannot enter the BIOS. When the display is in the motherboard, but the card is still in the PCI-E slot, the computer just gives me consistent beeps and no feedback to the monitor. I have updated my BIOS, and tried going into the BIOS and setting PCIE devices to start first, but nothing has worked. I have spent 10+ hours so far, and lost so much sleep. Any help for a resolution would be amazing!

Gateway DX4780 UB21-P
300W PSU
8GB RAM
Intel HD2000 Integrated Graphics
Windows 10 (also tried while on Windows 7, no luck either)
Zotac GeForce GTX 750 Ti-2GB (not working fully, trying to fix it)

On another pc, download and create a windows 10 install USB or DVD using this: windows 10 media creation tool

change boot order on pc that won't boot to USB or DVD first, hdd second
boot from installer and on screen after the language choices, selet repair this pc, NOT INSTALL
Select troubleshoot
Select Advanced
Select start up repair - this will scan pc and hopefully fix boot - will also ask for logon details

Hopefully that is all you need.

I can also do this from the Settings then to Security then to Recovery correct?

you can also get there by starting pc, letting it start windows and then restart machine. do that a few times and it should start automatic repair and take you to advanced start up. But thats only handy if windows won't start.

When my card is in the PCI-E slot, I cannot get past black screen. If the HDMI/VGA is in the card, I get the black screen with underscore. if the card is still in the PCI-E slot, but the HDMI/VGA is in the motherboard-- I get no feedback to my monitor, just consistent beeps.

Im saying can I goto Settings then to Update and Security and then to Recovery then to Advanced Startup, and pick Repair? I would do this using my IGPU, the only way I can get my computer to work pretty much.

Yes, but all the work you need to do to get card to work makes me think I am wasting your time trying a start up repair.

I think you better off doing this http://www.tomshardware.com/faq/id-2767677/clean-graphics-driver-install-windows.html as its probably a driver issue more than windows... naturally need to boot in using IGPU

do you have both display drivers installed, the igpu ones and Nvidia ones? as most pc outside laptops can't have two drivers installed at same time. they tend to over write each other. which did you install last?

I can't Install NVIDA drivers because whenever the card is in the PCI-E slot, even if the display is going to the motherboard; my computer will not fully start up. I cant enter the BIOS when I use display to my graphics card either. I tried the startup repair.. no luck

i might let someone else try to sort this out, i don't know graphics cards that well, i just thought i knew how to fix this error. It appears slightly more complicated than I first thought. That and I have to go sleep soon. GL :)

Okay, I just think going to a computer guy will cost more than the trouble this is worth. I'll probably just have to return the card. Thank you for trying to help though!
