A while ago I lost one of my Xbox 360 controllers to a battery acid leak. Considering gettigng a new controller or my PC and to bring my total number of Xbox controllers back up to 3. But, the One's controller is so expensive, especially with the adaptor and it does not work with the 360 even though they can use a micro USB cable.

I also have a DS4 I can use with my PC, but I don't like using that controller for anything

So what exactly do you want? You didn't really ask a question in your original post, and the post title said "Xbox 360 or Xbox One controller for PC". If you want a new PC controller, get a 360 wired controller, they aren't too expensive compared to 360 wireless or Xbox one controllers. If you really want wireless, get a 360 wireless and use the adapter; yet you say you already have this. Maybe I didn't understand what you wanted in the O.P.

Only trying to help ;)

I had three Xbox controllers that I could use on my PC. Lost one through battery acid leaking and one of the remaining ones is almost ten years old so the analog isn't working so great now. I want to know, since I'm considering it, whether I should replace the one I lost through battery acid leakage with another 360 wireless controller or go for the Xbox One controller

OK, thanks for clarifying. I would go for another 360 wireless, they are much cheaper but still work just as well.

It's really personal preference, as the two controllers are extremely similar. I prefer the X1 controller feel over the 360 one myself, the triggers feel very natural on your finger with how they're curved around to the shape of the rest of the controller. The D-pad is also much improved, and I LOVE the rubber grips on the sticks. One big benefit of the 360 controller's though is it's easy to pop out that battery pack when you want to disconnect the controller and stop using it to save your battery. The X1 controller has the battery built into the controller instead of popping out like on the 360, but if you're using a charging station it probably won't make much of a difference to you.

If I were you and had the extra money, I'd go for the X1 controller, or maybe even the Pro controller. But if you're tight on a budget, grab another 360 remote, you won't be missing out on anything you can't live without, especially since you haven't tried and thus gotten used to the newer features of the X1 controller. Ignorance is bliss :p

I've used the One controller once at an Xbox event, but that's it. I liked the feel of it, plus it's new

Well I use the X1 on the regular, and used the 360 on the regular before that, so let me know if you have any specific questions about the controller vs the 360 controller.

I read the buttons are closer together and flatter and the analog sticks are smaller and looser. Didn't notice any of this when I used it back at the Xbox event

haha, happy playing. I don't know what games fully support the rumble features on the X1 controller, but I remember the first time I played Forza 5 and you drive over a brick road. Getting that feedback in the rumble triggers was beautiful, and probably the first time I ever actually appreciated a rumble pack as anything more than just a gimmick.
