I've started playing Fallout:New Vegas again ( heavily modded ) and my frames are starting to dip down to about 47-60 FPS ( I'm using more texture mods than usual )

And since New Vegas only uses 2 cores ( I've edited the ini to try and make it use 4 cores ) I want to overclock two of my CPU cores ( if that is possible ) so my game can utilize those two OC'd cores for better performance. If this is possible,I would like a walk through of how to do so!

For general overclocking of the FX 8350 this is one of the very best guides there is:

Some people have suggested in some threads that disabling cores to improve the performance of the remaining cores will help, but after tinkering with this some time ago I found that myth to be "busted" the only thing that disabling cores will do is lower the overall power draw of the processor, but it won't improve the IPC of the remaining cores. The only other thing you could try is "unparking the cores" however if you are running Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 and have your power options set to high performance power plan then your cores should be...

I would suggest searching for "FX 8350 Overclocking Guides".

Here is a good one: "http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-1802332/simple-guide-overclocking-amd-fx8350.html"

I would recommend getting the best possible overclock by following the guide and then setting your power plan to high performance while you are playing the game. When your not playing you can have the power plan set to balanced for better power management.

Solution
All the overclocking of your processor has to be done through bios. Programs that do "auto-overclocking" all have one glaring weakness - they never give you the best overclock possible because they always set the Vcore much higher than it needs to be. This only results in lower overclocks drawing more voltage and producing more heat which is going to shorten the life of your processor. By following the guide and overclocking in bios you will achieve the best possible overclock at the lowest Vcore possible.

The only thing that can be done in Windows is setting the power plan. Setting your power plan to high performance is under settings- system- power & sleep- additional power settings in Windows 10.
