I've got a hp pavilion 550-136na and I'm trying to install an nvidia GeForce gtx 660. Got everything spinning as it should but when I got to my device manager I can't see it as being listed.
Without that I can't put drivers on my computer.
Please help.

Try downloading the latest drivers a running them from nvidia site. The driver will detect the gpu and it should work.

IF IT DOESNT WORK,

Try running this software.I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

The problem I have now is that it comes up as Windows basic display adapter and nothing else. But when I try to manually update the drivers it flashes up saying that they're up to date and lists it as nvidia gtx 660....
