Hey I have a optiplex 790 sff with a 240w psu.
I put a GT 720 card in it, with a 19w tda, and it works fine. But i heard ppl were putting higher power cards, like a GTX 750 Ti, in this same computer, that has a tda of 60w, so I considered upgrading.
but the computer store guy said that even my GT 720 shouldn't be safe in this psu because that card is said by evga to have a "Minimum recommended power supply with +12 Volt current rating of 20 Amps." While my PSU is only 17 Amps.
So is he right, is this GT 720 gonna cause problems? I really doubt it.
I was hoping to put a GT 730 GDDR5 in it, wich is the same but has a 40w tda.
