I am completely new at this and have no idea what im doing wrong. I just bought a entirely new computer with all new parts. The computer boots up fine when I leave the GPU out, but when i install the GPU the fans and lights on the MOBO and on the GPU turn on and work, but i get no display. The HDMI cable is plugged into the MOBO. I have tried restarting/ jumping CMOS, and that did nothing. If i need to flash or upgrade my BIOS i have no clue of how to do that.

Parts:
MOBO: Z17-X-Gaming 6 (Gigabyte)
GPU: MSI GTX 970 100ME
Possessor: Intel i7 6700k
let me know if you need descriptions of the other parts

the monitor needs to be plugged into the card not the motherboard

also did you plug in all pcie cables needed by the 970? they are mandatory

make and model of the power supply?
