My mobo is an AsRock Z97 Pro4 which supports M.2 gen2 it says (PCIe Gen2 x2 & Sata)

Im trying to decide between the 850 Evo M.2 or the regular 2.5in which are both very similar in price.

I have read a post on asrock forums saying his m.2 only runs fast using an PCIe adapter, though im not sure what SSD he was using...I wonder if it applies to all m.2 SSD's on this mobo? Does anyone have any info on using m.2 with this mobo?

Heres my mobo: http://www.asrock.com/mb/intel/z97%20pro4/

Which one should I get? (m.2 or 2.5in)

950 is completely out of my price range.

I dont understand your answer... Yes, its the 850 evo 250Gb I want...

M.2 or 2.5in?

true, however theyre more expensive but yeah the pc can transfare way more data.
MEANING programs start faster and windows boots faster
making it faster however if u chose a regular 850 evo vs a m2 850 i would get the regular one.

i own one (regular evo)my pc boots up in 10 seconds.... thats fast enough imo

Im not looking to wait for the 950... I just want to know what is better for my application. m.2 or 2.5in............

I have one m.2 slot (PCIe Gen2 x2 & Sata)....Why would only one slot be better for a 2.5in? Care to explain?

m.2 by far
