Hi everybody :D ,

I have just taken " 2x molex to 1x 8pin PCIE power adapter " from a friend who has a Gigabyte GTX 970 ( the adapter which came in the box with the 970 ) ,
but I found that it only have 6 wires and 6 pins and two pins are empty , checked the web and all pics with 970 have the same adapter ,

but I got another adapter ( one that came with 7970 ) that has all the pins .

SO , is it normal to have only 6 pins for an 8 PCIE power connector ?

NB : I need these adapters to power my Sapphire 7970 GHZ Edition

could be damaged or even mistake at the factory?...

anyways it is not a good idea to use such adapters at all

especially with high power consumption cards with weak no name power supplies without the proper pcie cables

what is the make and model of your power supply?
