Could an old faulty CPU damage a motherboard?

I found an Intel Pentium E5400 on the floor inside a friend's storage room and he said I could have it. I'm wondering if it could potentially damage a spare motherboard I have? I cleaned it up and it doesn't seems to be broken and it's slightly bent.
