I was doing some scanning/updating of my computer today, and afterwards I was asked by Windows to restart my computer to finish installing updates. I then clicked Restart Now, and Windows logged out and went to a blue screen saying it was updating. It then shut down and went to black screen. When it started back up, there was no post or beeps. Basically just some fans spinning, the case lights coming on, and a black screen.

I have tried disconnecting system from power and holding power to sort of "drain" the battery and reconnecting to power to no avail, as well as trying the 1 stick of RAM I have in different slots. I have tried removing the RAM, which causes the MOBO to emit beeps referring to the lack of RAM. This leads me to think the problem is with the RAM, but it seems odd that this issue just appeared after running Windows Update, so I wanted to do some more research before going out and buying new RAM.

Thanks for any help, I plan on buying more RAM tomorrow if I am still having this problem to figure out if that is the issue.

Solution
Thanks, it was the RAM like I thought. I tried using a friend's ram and my PC started normally. Not sure exactly why, just wanted to give a solution in case anyone else had this problem.
