Hi :)

I got about a year ago an external hard drive (Seagate Backup or something like that) and at first it was corrupted, but I fixed it with the Diskpart Tool. About a month ago it got corrupted again, and I am not sure why... I didn't have any important files on the disk, since I used it to install my games on it. So I tried to use the diskpart tool again but it didn't quite work out... I can find the disk in the BIOS and in disk management, but not in the Microsoft Explorer.

Is there a solution to this?

NOTE:
-I've cleaned the disk with diskpart and I could have done it wrong, so perhaps there is no way to solve this...?
-I've read on other forum pages and have tried formatting the disk in both diskpart and in diskmanagement, to the NTFS type. It haven't showed any type of error messages throughout the formatting stages.
-Disk Management just says that it has 100% clear space, and that it is healthy.

I'd be grateful if someone could perhaps help me out :)

Thanks!

Hey there, Desaxion.

Don't worry, your English is fine. :)

What exactly do you mean by "the drive got corrupted". What happens, it just disappears from Windows Explorer (This PC/My Computer)? Would you be so kind as to post a screenshot of what you see in Disk Management about the drive (you can use imgur.com to upload the image)?

I'd recommend that you backup your important files if you have written such data on that drive and download the HDD manufacturer's diagnostic tool. After that go ahead and run the tests to see if there's anything out of the ordinary with the HDD. You could also try it with a different USB cable and a different computer, to see if the same issue occurs.

Hope that helps. Please let me know how it goes.
