Someone in my neighborhood has been stealing my packages. I'm going to mail myself a package with a tracking device in it. I need one that can connect to my phone, since its in my area I dont think it needs to be extremely long range. If anyone can recommend anything that's less than $50 with something better than just radar to tell me when Im getting closer id really appreciate it. If thats is my only option then suggest whichever one you think is best. Thanks!

The legality of a tracking is more to do with tracking the carrier rather than tracking your stuff once delivered. If you pursue the tracking method rather than the getting a camera. Then I would put the tracker in a bait package and leave that on your stoop. That way you avoid the issue of potentially tracking the carrier.
Personally I would get a camera. There are several IP cameras that you can get for under $50 that would be more than sufficient to get the evidence you need. Finally, you need to file a police report and generally involve the police.
