Unable to boot up from SSD

I have a self built PC that is using a Crucial BX100 SSD (500 GB) as the primary drive running Windows 7 64 bit. I haven't been using the drive for even a year, but after restarting my computer (due to updating AVG virus protection) my computer is getting the "Reboot and Select proper Boot device or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key" error.

I checked my Boot Menu and the Crucial SSD is listed. But even setting it as #1 in boot menu it will not boot to windows. Next I ran the Windows Recovery disc, but got the error that was along the lines "can not repair this version of Windows". Which is odd since I tried using the install disc, as well as creating a new one on my laptop. Neither works.

At this point I was thinking the drive had failed, so I plugged in my old Kingston HyperX SSD that I used to be my boot drive not even a year ago. Again, BIOS recognizes it but when it goes to boot I get the "Reboot and Select proper Boot device or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key" error.

So I don't think its necessarily my SSD, but rather something funky with my BIOS. Just as an FYI my mobo is a ASUS P8z77-V LX and I have a Intel Core i7 processor.

EDIT: I updated the BIOS using the EZ Flash option and the PC booted up just fine using my old Kingston SSD. So I switched back over to my Crucial SSD and tried to boot and got the following error:
"the system found unauthorized changes on the firmware, operating system or UEFI drivers.
Press [N] to run the next boot device, or enter directly to BIOS Setup if there are no other boot devices installed.
Go to BIOS Setup > Advanced > Boot and change the current boot device into other secured boot devices"

Again, BIOS recognizes the SSD but won't boot to it even when its listed as option 1 in the boot menu.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Sorry for the long post. Thanks!
