Connect rgb led strip to pc

Hello all,

Last year i modified my desk with leds. Those are currently connected to an IR receiver. I would like to connect the led strip to my pc but not in a normal way. I would like to make them light up according to the sound coming out of my pc. Do any of you have an idea how i could do that?

That's not what i meant. I already have the led strip but i wanted to know if you guys knew a way to connect the led strip to my pc in such a way that they can be controlled via my pc according to the sound.

You need hardware and software to do that.
