I shut down last night with the usual shutdown and update. I awoke this morning booted my computer and watched the update go through. Once it was done it went to my login screen however it froze there. Not wanting to tamper with it I gave it a solid 5 minutes and it was still stuck. I turned off my computer and rebooted. It quickly jumps pass the BIOS entry option and goes to a black screen with a flashing underscore like a terminal that you cannot type into. I did some research and most people said this was signs that the hard drive is failing. I started removing SATA connections in the computer and have determined there is definitely a problem with the SSD that houses the OS. I do however have a usb laptop hook up that I connected my SSD to and can see and access all of the files on the SSD. Is there anyway for me to roll back this update on my SSD from my laptop or could this possibly be something else like a faulty SATA cable?

Edit: Just an update, I tried using the SATA to USB connection to plug the SSD into a usb port to see if it was just a faulty SATA cable and still get a crash.

Not an answer but an update, it's definitely not the sata port or the sata cable as I have tried multiple combinations. It is definitely the hard drive. I can access all of the files on the hard drive if I plug it up via USB to my working laptop. Is there anyway to alter the windows files to hopefully fix this or should I just try to salvage and save all the files I can and try to format the hard drive?
