Windows installs Radeon 9600 PRO drivers instead of 9550GE

Have a good day. I got A9550GE/TD/128M/A (as I see on Graphic Card) for my old computer. First time I plugged and started Windows, it installed drivers automatically. Drivers are named "RADEON 9600 PRO Family (Microsoft Corporation)" and "RADEON 9600 PRO SEC Family (Microsoft Corporation)".

I tried to install ASUS drivers and its utilities so I did go to this page: https://www.asus.com/Graphics-Cards/A9550GETD_Series/HelpDesk_Download/ and downloaded them. I tried to install them but first error I got is "INF Error. Video Driver Not Found" and then just after it, "Try to setup your display adapter with a Standard VGA driver before attempting to install."

I uninstalled the MS drivers but it requires reboot to be effective. Then I reboot but it installs drivers again. I stopped automatic updates for drivers and Plug and Play service. I managed to stop automatically installing but then I got the same errors.

My questions are,

1- Why MS does not install drivers for 9550GE but 9600 PRO?
2- I want to use ASUS' utilities, is there a way to get rid of these and install the drivers succesfully?
3- I think it's better to use manufacturer's drivers and utilities, should I be OK with MS drivers?

Here is my system:

Thanks for your answers in advance.

have you tried installing the drivers manually through the device manager? extract the package from asus you downloaded and through device manager point the driver update to this folder. this should install the driver if it is compatible.

it's also possible that there is only a single driver for a couple families of cards and it just does not make the distinction between them in the name it installs under. does the card work with these 9600 pro drivers? if it does, i'd not bother with it myself. but if it bothers you to have the 9600 pro name there, then try the manual install of the asus drivers.

Yes I tried. Search Option says "Cannot Install this Hardware: The hardware is not installed because the wizard cannot find the necessary software." So I choose the other option "I will choose the driver to install." then in a directory named drivers I found INF file for XP and choose it. It loads tons of drivers for other cards but there is no 9550 there.

Update: I think problem is about ASUS. I simply went to https://driverscollection.com/?H=Radeon%209550&By=ATI&SS=Windows%20XP and download ATI software named "10-2_legacy_xp32-64_dd_ccc.exe" and installed it. It installed all ATI utilities and replaced drivers! :) Thanks for your helps Math Geek.
