USB 3.0 at low speeds

I bought a Sandisk 32GB USB 3.0, its advertised on the packaging of speeds upto 150mb/s but I get a constant 20/25mb/s. My friend has one and his speeds are much faster than mine.
Yes I'm plugging my USB into the USB 3.0 connection on my PC case which is situated at the front, the USB slot is connected to the motherboard via a lead so it's not a direct connection like the USB's on the back of the mobo, please help!

If you plug this into another device, does it function at the speeds its supposed to? Do you have USB3 ports in the back directly connected to the board? You will never get the same performance on ports with a lead than you will with a direct connection.
