This is an odd one but i flashed the bios to the F5G bios that allows the BCLK overclock and as soon as i open EVGA percision X to change the fans on the GPU there is a lot of lag induced in microsoft excel and word even after i close Percision X, and when i close percision X it says that the program did not end properly, would you like to close the program, so i am not sure what the problem is here but if there is a fix for it i would be really happy as i am in accounting right now and there is a lot of work in Excel and it is my main program for accounting work. Thanks for the help in advance, any ideas just shoot them out there i am more than ready to try them!

Overclocking a CPU can cause all sorts of system problems if the CPU, system bus, or memory can't handle it. Back off the Overclock to stock and see if that fixes your issue. Also its possible that older BIOS causes performance issues outside of it allowing overclocking.

Funny enough that was my first thought so i backed it off to stock and i had the same issue but seeing as how it was only when i opened EVGA Percision X that i had the issue i did a clean install of the the video drivers and now it is running up to snuff!

Thanks for the help but i sure hope that the problem is gone for good!

Hi,

Your overclock is not stable.
download prime95 and run it for at least 12 hours.
if you get freeze, errors or CPU overheats, your overclock needs more tweaking.
search on youtube your cpu and motherboard and you will find guides on how to do it.

Thank you for the input i did that searching and i have been overclocking this chip for a while now with may different iterations of the overclock on it and i actually reduced the speed of the overclock for this excel run as i wanted to make sure that the CPU was going to be 100% stable even after i tested my 4.5GHZ OC at 1.375V with great success after many hours running prime 95, testing in cinebench and after a couple of hours gaming, i wanted to make sure that whatever OC i am going to be putting my CPU on has to be stable. So, the stability is not the issue, the issue turned out to be the video drivers as after i flashed the BIOS i had not yet updated the Video drivers but after i updated the video drivers everything was running back up to spec. Thanks for your input it is greatly appreciated!

EDIT: i forgot to add that i turned the speed all the way down to 3.5GHZ when this problem had arose and the voltage was still at 1.325V which seeing as how the chip turbos to 3.3 i should not have any problem whatsoever running at that frequency. i also forgot to add that i had to remove EVGA persicion X in order for the porblem to be completely resolved so my thought is that the program had a bad run after the BIOS was flashed.
