I bought my MSI r9 390 Gaming 8G yesterday and installed it today. Thing is, my monitor keeps telling me that there is no signal whenever I try to play a game for longer than about 20 sec.(witcher 3, ac syndicate). The audio cuts as well, which has nothing to do with the graphics card of course but my PC seems on. All lights are on, even the one on the side of my r9 390, and all my fans are still working...

further PC specs:
- i7 4790k
- 16Gb DDR3
- 256Gb SSD
- 1Tb HDD @7200rpm
- MOBO: MSI z87
- PSU: HKC 580w (don't know the exact model)
- Zalman Z11 case
- Zalman cnps 10x performa CPU fan
- Monitor: Acer B276HUL

I think it could be my psu, since it's pretty terrible, but my pc doesn't really shut down so that would be weird...
What can I do? Should I return the GPU and get a new one?

PS: I switched from a Radeon HD7950 to this one and afterwards did a clean reinstall of all the AMD drivers, including the display driver (with DDU). So no point in telling me I should clean install my drivers.

I underclocked the GPU and now I can play the Witcher 3. I tried it for about 5 min., since I had to go to bed. Does this mean I have an insufficient PSU? If not, is there a way to not underclock but still be able to play games?

Are you absolutely sure this is the problem? because the PC stays on, i've always heard that if the PSU fails, it burns or shuts down the computer...
I don't really want to be spending 80 bucks when I dont have to...

Thanks for helping! MSI just said the same thing so i'm going to buy an aerocool xpredator gold 750gm. That should be good enough right?
