Hello Friends,

My pc crashes every time whenever i play any graphic intensive game. It makes a stuttering noise for a few seconds then the sound stops however the pc freezes up completely. everything stays on though. Until i hard reset the pc it does not work. at first i thought it's my graphic card which has gone bad so i got it repaired from the service center. the issue did not get fixed. i got the graphics card replaced still the same thing. i have checked so many posts similar to mine however none of those solutions helped me. i am really frustrated now. really don't know what to do. please guys help a brother out. some said it's because of over heating. so i got 8 120mm fan installed. plus i have cpu cooler, plus i stay in a room where A.C runs all the times.
my config is decent so it should be able to play all the current games with custom settings. for example i play the witcher 3 . so some times i can play it for a stretch of 30-45 minutes without any crash but after that it crashes. but if i play gta v it crashes within 5-10 minutes max. please need some expert help. don't want anyone's guesses.

my config is mentioned below:

MO-BO: Asus m5a97 r2.0
Ram: Corsair Vengeance ddr3 8gb 1600mah single stick
GPU: zotac 750 ti oc edition 2 gb ddr5
Processor: AMD AM3+ FX-6300 6-Core 3.5GHz Processor
cpu cooler: Cooler master hyper tx3 evo
PSU: Seasonic evo m12ii 750w 80+ bronze modular
W-lan Card(wifi card): tp link 300 mb n wifi card
cabinet: Corsair 400r mid tower with 8 120 led fan
SSD: Kingston 120 gb v300
HDD: 3 tb wd green, 500 gb wed blue, 250 gb seagate
p.s the os is installed on the ssd, i install the games on the 500 gb wd hdd.

os : win 8.1 pro

i don't overclock anything.

Thank you all. Hope i will get some help.

I FOUND THE REASON AND A WORK AROUND

i opened the case and switched the gpu from slot one to the slot and it worked for 2 hours at a stretch. however i forgot to mention rather i did not even realize that time i also removed my TP-LINK W-LAN CARD from the pci slot. but later on i connected it back and the issue re-occurred. so i tried it again. if i disable the TP-LINK W-LAN CARD and then play any game whatsoever . it runs and runs and runs. never crashes. so i found the reason and a way around to keep myself going. so probably there is a conflict between the gpu and the wlan card/slots, when the card is running at it's full potentials. the card is in a pciex16 slot however the wlan is in a pci slot. there has to be something wrong with the settings/wlan card. i gotta do some research about it and find how to fix it.. but anyways thanks for your help. you did not solve it however thanx a ton mate.

Solution
your specs looks all right to run decent graphics...
with my experience, i can say there can be any number of causes for the crash...
sometimes when isolated components are not the cause, a combination of hardwares running together could be the cause...

my best advice would be to get the nearest repair shop and test each and every component with substitutes(considering you dont have all substitutes)...right now it will be the quickest way to narrow down the issue, since you have tried all other feasible options...

thanks..
however i have checked it already . but temp seemed all okay to me. nothing crossed 50 except the mobo heat-sinks.

install Core Temp and GPU-Z and see what temps you get before the crashes to verify if there's any overheating going on. Check all power leads to the motherboard are fully inserted and to the GPU.check the RAM is seated properly. Also check the health of the HDD/SSD. Or it could be the PSU is no good. Check the power lead to the PC. I've been caught out by the power lead being loose at the back of the PC (cost me a HDD after several hard crashes). Lot's of things to check sorry.

You get this error after every "unclean" shutdown. This doesn't tell anything new. Look for other errors/warnings.

thanks . temps are really under control. nothing goes above 50 c except the heat-sinks of the mobo they go about 55 c.
sdd hdd they are all good. all the cables are connected properly as a matter of fact i have unplugged and re-plugged them 2 weeks back. also i have changed the thermal paste of the cpu. installed 8 120 mm fans just to keep it cool. i have been facing this issue for the last one year. i checked a lot online but no one really fixed it. really don't know what to do. i can't even play the games that i used to play with my old rig without any issue. i.e crysis 3 etc.

You said you get a noise before it freezes. Is that from the speakers or from inside the computer? Can you consistently replicate the issues? If so, exactly describe the process. Is there something you have done or can avoid doing on the PC and it continues to run normally? Keep looking through error logs they can direct you to the faulty component and let us know how the memory tests go.

How long have you had your psu? Don't you have another one to try by chance? It's more than enough for your rig, but just in case... Because of the stutter you experience before shutdown/reboot, might also be memory as well. In case you have another stick, try it too. Let us know how memtest86 did.

honestly i like what you said. but you know what happened. after reading you reply, i opened the cabinet and switched the gpu from pciex slot 1 to the other slot. and left the cabinet door open. then i was able to play gta v cod black ops 3 for like 2 hours almost. then i got tired and happy and left it that way. but now again it crashed within few minutes of gta v . but i guess i will go to this friend's place who has amd proccesor and check all of my components one by one. thanks man.

psu is just about 9-10 months old. i do have another local 400w i can try it however i am quite sure it's not the psu. because my card or rig don't even need 750w. that's not the only reason but stil believe it's not the psu. i opened the cabinet and switched the gpu from pciex slot 1 to the other slot. and left the cabinet door open. then i was able to play gta v cod black ops 3 for like 2 hours almost. then i got tired and happy and left it that way. but now again it crashed within few minutes of gta v . another stick i don't have i will got to a friends place and check each of the component and play gta v to check what happens. also memtest takes really long time. last time i ran it and there was power cut so it's summer time and it's india. so power cuts can happen any time. so i will not do anymore of memtest. let's see i will go to friends' next week. will keep you all updated. really thanks a lot for your interest in helping me :)

hey thanks. when you suggested me to take it to the repair shop that time i opened the case and switched the gpu from slot one to the slot and it worked for 2 hours at a stretch. however i forgot to mention rather i did not even realize that time i also removed my TP-LINK W-LAN CARD from the pci slot. but later on i connected it back and the issue re-occurred. so i tried it again. if i disable the TP-LINK W-LAN CARD and then play anything game whatsoever . it runs and runs and runs. never crashes. so i found the reason and a way around to keep myself going. so probably there is a conflict between the gpu and the wlan card when the card is running at it's full potentials. the card is in a pciex16 slot however the wlan is in a pci slot. there has to be something wrong with the settings/wlan card. i gotta do some research about it and how to fix it.. but anyways thanks for your help. you did not solve it however your answer actually motivated me to open the cabinet and switch the card etc etc but thanx a ton mate.

and trust me wherever i checked online everyone suggested about memtest but i did not do it because there can't be anything wrong with the memory. so from the next time without knowing don't just tell people do this or that. not being rude but you have to realize memtest takes 12 hours almost.

thanks anyways :)

ofcourse you need to open d cabinet...what were you thinking initially??? you cannot resolve hardware issues without opening the cabinet...dawh...
i for one, always keep the cabinet open for some extra cooling...ofcourse theres some dust accumulation...but atleast its better than a heated tower...
you were my first reply ever in this website...but i am glad i could be of some use to you, whatever little way it was...
