Hello, i recently bought my new pc with MSI GTX 970 4G and i7-6700K and played various games while testing fps and temperatures.
So far GTA 5 needed the most resources on ultra settings, i got nearly everything maxed out with 60 fps and was playing happily, but i got a bit concerned about my CPU temperatures, because it goes really high.
GPU temp : ~60 (65 max recorded)
CPU: ~70-79 (82 max recorded under 100% load)

Mostly i have 75-79 celsius while playing, is this temperature safe for day-to-day gaming under high (not 100%) load?
I was trying to find my answers in google, but all i could've found was that its safe to have mid 70's temperature while gaming, but just wanted to make sure. Please help!

Oh i missclicked "best solution" dont know how to remove it.. :D
No OC's, and i have 3 case fans.
So lets say my CPU temperature is around 78-81 all the time, is it safe? Because it goes up and down all the time between 75-79 mostly..

Intel cpu could safely go up to 100c. At that point the cpu starts to throttle, decreasing performance in order to decrease temperature. That being said I'd like it to have a max temp of 75. It seems that you cheaped out a bit on the cooler.

81 is totally fine, maybe an idea to invest in a budget cpu cooler around $20-40 to get way less temps and maybe an oc than. But no need to worry untill it reaches 85 °C stable (not peaks)

my i7-6700k doesn't get above 35 degrees under full load with a noctua nh d15. Sitting at 23 degrees C idle.

i also used arctic silver thermal paste instead of paste that came with the noctua cooler.

23 C Idle is impossible with an air cooler since the ambient temperature is probably already close to 23c ... I also use the Noctua cooler ... Air cooling can't match ambient temperature at idle ...
