Hello friends. Thanks in advance for your time and help.

This is going to be a long post, so I hope at least some of you will make it all the way through. I´ll try to be as specific as I can.

1 month and a half ago I built my PC buying different components from different sellers, got it all up and working. Everything was fine. 2 weeks ago the power went suddenly down in my apartment, and there was when it all started. I honestly can't recall if the PC was on or off during this unfortunate event, but sure thing is that´s what caused it. At least that's what I think.

I went off to turn my PC on and something weird happened: my PC would start normally, all fans would spin (except the GPU one), but it would not boot. Not a beep. Nothing. Only the CPU LED. So I [strike]panicked[/strike] took the GPU off and plugged it back in. And it worked! How awesome am I? But the problem didn't stop there, of course.

So, my problem is that My PC wont turn on SOMETIMES. Sometimes it will and it works just fine, and I work and game with it. If it doesn't boot, the CPU LED is on. I take off the side lid, I randomly unplug and plug back again some cables and it works again. But again... only sometimes. A few days ago it wouldn't boot until I swapped my HDD and SSD SATA connectors. Whenever it boots, the time and date is at 00:00.

My rig:
- ASUS Sabertooth 990FX R2.0
- AMD FX 8370 4.3Ghz 8 core
- 24gb RAM HyperX Fury (2x8 + 2x4)
- SSD Kingston V300 240GB
- 1TB Caviar Blue WD
- EVGA GTX 970 4gb
- Thermaltake Smart 650w Pcie X 2 80plus Bronze

Things I tried:
- Removing the Mobos battery and putting it back again instantly.
- Hitting the Mem OK button
- Unplugging every single cable and connector and plugging it back in.
- Checked all pins
- Tried unplugging the PCI connectors from the GPU
- Removing every component.

You name it, I´ve tried it.

So, what can I try now? I know every component works just fine, because everytime the PC decides to turn on and work, it does perfectly! No problems whatsoever.

Is my power supply too small for my config? Is my Mobo failing? What can I do?

Thanks SO much for taking the time to read thru all this.

Have a good one!

Solution
shenetys are the same quality as your unit, bad.
just keep in mind i warned you and if it breaks down (and theres a chance) it can take other components with it.
thats one poweruspply thats really really bad and most likely the problem, i am quite sure.

try to replace it for a stable one like the seasonic s12ii 520w 80+BRONZE its 55 dollars or 60 euros or 53 pounds

also when u got the mobo battery out did you unplug the power chord formt he socket?

It could be the power supply. Tomorrow I´ll be testing my setup with another (a much better) one to see if that fixes it.

No, I did not! How silly. I´ll give it a try as soon as I get home.

In case it is the Power Supply, why does the Pc work just fine when it decides to boot?

Thank you so much!

Now, I´m not really sure. Its a 850w Sentey as far as I know. It´s currently in my gf´s rig.

I really dont want to rush to buy a new power supply until I´m sure that´s the issue. Once again, the PC used to work just fine. It DOES work just fine, but as I described earlier, only boots whenever it wants. Which suck.

Thanks again, Superninja

So you dont think wattage is the problem. Maybe the power supply? Isn´t there ANY way to check if that is the problem without having to buy the Seasonic? I mean, I´ll do it of course if thats the issue, but just want to be sure.

Thanks!
