I'm looking to build a gaming rig, with a budget under $500. I want to stay in the lower range if possible so I can afford peripherals (monitor, mouse, keyboard, etc.) This is going to be my first built rig, but I'll have someone with knowledge of building them with me. Just need some help with picking out parts.

I'm looking for a window case. Requirements would be to run League of Legends at max and hopefully blockbuster titles at a stable 60fps. Tower size doesn't matter, just would like room to upgrade down the road and have clean cable management.

Thanks

budget is kind of low for a gamin rig and blockbuster titles at a stable 60fps
what kind of a monitor do you plan on getting?

I know 500$ is on the low side. I'm just saying that number to keep it low, but if I need to go higher I can. It's just that I am going to have to buy everything else. I'm not sure what monitor I'd get either.

What card do you recommend?

gtx 950 should work, considering your budget, you may be able to buy a better used card for the same money.

Basically your not going to be able to play any new (AAA) games at 1080p on high setting with $500 to 600 budget but you can game pretty well with the 950 or you if you look into getting maybe a used card. The thing is there will be new cards released probably in about 2-3 months so the older generation card may stop dropping down however that months away. If you want to build a machine now I would get every but the GPU and build the PC (make sure every thing this is working). Then wait a month maybe to see if there are any updates on release date probably will know toward in the of May. In the mean time you can get, a GOG, Steam, Blizzard account and look for some older games that maybe on sale. The GPU in skylake is actually suppose to be decent to play games @720p I'm sure you could run say diablo, starcraft Lol, and other games. Probably could play some nice older circa 2006-2012 AAA games @1080 med graphics with the intel GPU.
