I have a computer with an Intel Pentium 4 Processor, Socket Type 478. I bought an Intel DuoCore Processor to replace it, but it is a slightly bigger size and a different pin fit despite the fact that it is specified for Socket Type 478 also. What can I do here? I need a processor that can process.

There are two different Socket 478s, a desktop version, and a mobile version. The Socket 478 Core 2 Duos are for the mobile version of the socket. Desktop Socket 478 only supports Pentium 4 based processors, you'll need a new motherboard if you want a real upgrade.
