Okay so aside from the title how could I revive a BIOS chip jumper if the BIOS itself is erased (hypothetically) and took the jumper with it. I know it sounds stupid but trust me, it ain't. Think about it, if you had no way to obtain a new CMOS chip and it was erased, how would you revive the whole thing. Given the CMOS battery had lost charge also. No you can't get a new battery either.

On ASRock motherboard's that is never going to happen as I've got only one BIOS chip on my A85X-itx board and it has a fail safe built into it. If you're looking at Gigabyte, they have their patented Dual BIOS technology so the second BIOS will kick in or is available for backup. When they both die the board will naturally need replacing since the BIOS chips aren't swappable(they are soldered permanently on the PCB unlike EVGA's designs). Asus have their own version of dual BIOS and so far BIOS updates haven't killed them unless due to user error or impatience.

Might I ask what your system is? It reads out like you're the one in trouble with the BIOS chip. The point about no being able to source a new CMOS battery is even more far fetched since the local watch repair shop will have some in stock or at your departmental store across the street/block.
