Hi,

The font in the autofill boxes on webpages in my Chrome browser are in bold. For example when I double click an username autofill box and the drop down appears the username is in bold. When I select the username it returns to an normal/unbold font. If this doesn't make sense I will try and take a screenshot. Thanks.

I don't think so, I mean the user name and password boxes you use to log into websites. With autofill enabled usually when you double click on the username box a drop down appears with any usernames you've used before..

It doesn't affect me being able to log in, I'm just wondering why the font has changed to bold. I've got a screenshot here.

have you tried this???

Step 1: Click the Chrome Menu in the top right hand corner of the Google Chrome browser and select “Settings”. Step 2: Scroll down and click “Show Advanced Settings”. Then scroll down until you see the “Web Content” heading, as shown above. Once you've found the Web Content menu, click “Customize fonts…”

Yeah I've found the font settings but I don't recall ever changing anything in there and I'm not sure what setting within there would be causing the bold font.

ideally...these should be ur settings...

I am experiencing the same issue as well. My wild guess is that this started occurring after a recent windows update, as I've not adjusted any of Chrome's font settings.

Perhaps whatever default autofill font Chrome used, was touched by a Win update - and now it's bold. That is pure speculation, although, my Window 10 machine does not exhibit this issue, just Windows 7.

I'd rather not bother reinstalling chrome if there is not yet a confirmed solution.

I noticed the same on my desktop a couple of days ago and it was driving me crazy. Checked the font config and everything seemed to be fine, then checked the version, it was Chrome 50.xxxxxxx.

Just now, I wanted to log in on some site, while on my work laptop and noticed the fonts were as I remembered them (not bold). Went to check the version and it was 49.xxxxxx and downloading an update. After restarting Chrome, it changed to 50.xxxxxxx and the bold fonts in autofill were here too.

This is interesting that it not only affects me. It looks like this has been implemented in the latest Chrome update, or maybe it's been a mistake as bold is not usually tolerated for normal text behaviour is it?

Yes, but only if Google are aware of it..

Well, "Auto-fill form letters are now highlighted in bold." There's the answer to that one.. But bold though? It doesn't make sense..

This is the blue font I'm seeing, it struck me as being different the moment I saw it..

Ah the Google page changed not the browser itself. No i'm not getting that. Did you change any of the font settings when you were trying to fix the bold autofill settings? That is where page text colors are controlled for the most part.

Searching for text is still yellow and orange. That i what I thought you meant. This is with all default settings.
