you would be correct in that opinion, time and time again game requriements has meant nothing, either in a positive way or often the negative when games are poorly optimized
i remember back when Rome2 was about to launch my friend build like a 5k$ gaming machine monster, specifically meant for that game..
and after release, the fact teh game ran like utter bear drippings, he swore off Creative Assembly, because even after several patches it wasnt up to par in term of hardware requirements listed and playability
was kinda fun at teh time to see a beastly machine run a game in teh same quality as my old ancient dusty rig at teh time
the spec requirements listing i often take with a grain of salt,, they usually just mean "the game will run";, be it at 5-15fps or 120, the dev often doesnt care about, but it will "technically" run
just look at the specs for warhammer total war.. to get a playable fps and decent quality settings you need insane hardware..
so it can go in either direction, overall.. worthless to put the spec req listing in many games it seems
