Hey there!

I am planning to build up a budget gaming rig, with these components in mind:

Motherboard: MSI Z170 G43 PLUS
CPU: Intel core i3-6100
GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX950
SSD: OCZ Trion 150 series 480GB
RAM: ADATA 8 GB KIT DDR4 3000MHz CL16

I would like some help/advice about the choice of a good quality budget PSU, at about 500W+ to make some room for future improvements. This is just a basic build where I intend to upgrade the CPU and GPU when a good deal comes up (pascal etc.).

I've done hours of research to settle down for these components, so albeit I appreciate your advice to swap any of these for something else, I'm pretty much decided to go with these, but feel free to enlighten me with something I might not know, or is a better deal.

I'm providing you a site where I would like you to choose the PSU, as I live in Slovakia and shipping is not thoroughly available or a viable option at all, so please stick with this site, even when advising a different component than those I've already chosen. Feel free to use the Brands & Specifications Filter to find the wanted characteristics fast. The price should be less than 100€ (114$ USD), ideally around somewhat more than half that price.

Power supplies

My first pick was the Zalman ZM500 GSII, but I'm not entirely sure if that's the best bang for the buck out of these. I'm also not yet entirely decided for a case, if you wouldn't mind checking that out as well. I'd like to have a transparent sidewall, cable management and good materials used as well. Basically, the best budget option available at the site. The price range for it should be at about 50-80€. Cases

Also, I'm hesitant about the choice of the GPU manufacturer, would prefer a lesser price but I guess at least the dual fans. Quiet performance would be the best. Was going to go for ASUS Strix but if there is something as good as that but cheaper, that would be the way to go. GPU's

Good luck and thank you very much guys! ;-)

Thanks for the quick reply!

Yeah it seems as the best pick, although it is also the most expensive one. Will definitely consider it, but I'll save the "pick as solution" for the other issues I'd advice on. Thanks again ;-)

trust me, it will be well worth the money,, it is the 1 component you dont want to cheap on,, it is THE most critical system component.. because if it fails or messes up cos of cheap interior components.. it can destroy your entire system..

OK then, Supernova it is! Hope it'll not cause a black hole in my rig, as that would destroy not only my entire system.. :-D
As for the other things, would you mind advising? Or should I start a new thread for that? Wouldn't mind, as you guys are pretty freaking fast to reply

Archaic has some good points which I second.

I focused on the PSU question but with the GPUs you really want to look at the manufacturer warranty, support, rewards etc to decide which you want. Depending on regions some or better or worse. I don't know for yours however I find that this plays an important role.

As mentioned by Archaic. They all have passive cooling at idle and won't be very loud under load.

Thank you all guys, I've decided to pick as solution Archaic's post, I really like the case he recommended and I'm also grabbing the seasonic PSU. Will keep in mind the Supernovas when building another rig ;-)
