Hi, I would like to add Linux(choice of distro still being decided) to my dual boot setup of Windows 7 Pro and Windows 10 Pro(Fast Ring).

I have 1 physical HD with Win 7 Pro on one partition, Windows 10 Pro on another partition. I still have 265GB unallocated left, and I will allocate 125 GB to the Linux distro installation, I also have a system partition and a recovery partition created by the Windows 7 Pro installation as the 1st OS installed on the HD. The HD is a MBR partition type, so I concerned that I'm at the limit for partitions allowed for MBR type of HD.

Questions:
1. Since the HD is a MBR partition type, I can't install an additional OS?
2. If I convert the HD to a GPT type partition, is a triple boot possible?
3. Adding a another HD is a possibility, but I lose my DVD optical drive in the process
4. A more expensive possibility is adding a PCIe 4x adaptor for a M.2 SSD to the motherboard.

Any thoughts and pointers in the right directions will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance to all.

Solution
An MBR style HDD can have up to seven partitions - three primary, one extended, and another four inside that extended. If you already have four primary partitions, you have to convert (best - last one_) to extended, by backing it up.
